Urgent: Needs Cancon

July 9 - I looked for a Canadian contribution but sheesh, there are over 700 entries at the We're not Afraid! website.

Come on, surely one of you knows how to create this kind of thing! (Don't look at me; history major but tech dunderhead here.)

3 If you need a website to tell people you aren't afraid, then you probably are.

4 Robert! Long time. To your point, only a fool would be completely unafraid, but I find the many affirmations that we will live without fear to be inspiring. Of course, it kind of runs up against those who fear instability.

5 Ah, the old denial routine. So does that mean everyone who says they're afraid and doesn't post really isn't afraid? Or does it only work one way?

6 Taking steps to deal with the problem gets rid of fear. Fear and anxiety actually burn energy and produce nothing. Al-Qaeda creates a sort of catch-22 situation. They only negotiate via high explosives. The west could retaliate with double the explosives, killing twice the innocent women and children, but that has been going on for twenty years across the Israeli border with no resolve in sight. Not the North American way, really. I thought the US could pay under-cover operatives to take out the worst of the OBL types. I'm not sure why that did not work. This is a catch-22 because Al-Qeada seems to think taking hostages and then rolling their heads in the street will gain them some sort of victory. That only increases rage and justification for lashing back with more intensity. What exactly does AL-Qeada want anyway, other than troops leaving Iraq.? That would end nothing. This seems to be a catch-22 because those running Al Qeada are in fact quite wealthy and can motivate young men to accept that 27 or so virgins await them when they trip to the next world via plastique. Seems their main aim is to be a thorn in the side of the free world. Sort of an ongoing world tooth-ache. This can go on for lifetimes if Fundamentalist leaders fail to adopt a new world vision. If Al Qaeda leaders simply enjoy the thrill of mass killing, [remember they are oil wealthy and are in need of nothing], then it seems we have a world escalation of what has been on-going in Israel for years. Anyone with any idea of what would satisfy Al Qaeda enough to relax on the blood-letting habit is welcome to outline it. Moving out of Iraq would only serve to expose Kurds to certain death and Shiites to who knows what. Sunnis and the Bath just want to move back into their palaces, no doubt. 73s TG
