Bringing TV to Iraq

Apr. 17 - How much do we believe in a free and unfetterd press? How much do we believe in giving people the facts and letting them make up their own minds?

Do you believe that Iraqis deserve an responsible and sober alternative to Al Jazeera? Spirit of America does, and has launched a fund-raising effort which the blogosphere has eagerly taken up.

1 Reading the first line of your article, I thought it was about Canada and Fox News. Had to do an on-the-fly double-clutching shift of paradigm.

4 Well, Deb, in the case of Fox, I'd call it good business in enlarging their market. In the case of the Globe, I'd call it ideological protectionism, if not advocating censorship. And I'm WAY cynical.

5 What pisses me off is that this haughty Globe reporter has been able to watch FNC whereas I have to groan and scream though CNN broadcasts. There is truly no justice ...
